Delta Recycling Davie is a materials recovery facility (MRF) located in Davie, Florida.  Waste Management assuming operations at the site in 2004.  Since 2004, Globex has performed numerous projects at the site.  A list of general projects performed by Globex at Delta Recycling Davie is presented below:

Permitting
When Waste Management assumed operations of the site, Globex prepared an application for the transfer for the permit to Waste Management.  In 2007, Globex permitted a modification to the operation permit for the acceptance of source separated commingled recyclable materials and Class III waste at the facility.  In 2008, Globex prepared a water use permit application for submittal to the South Florida Water Management District for use of an existing on-site water supply well utilized for dust suppression during MRF operations.

Compliance Monitoring – Water Quality
Globex has performed routine semiannual ground water monitoring at the MRF.  In addition, Globex has prepared a Ground Water Evaluation Monitoring Plan (EMP) to address water quality exceedances at the site.  As part of the EMP, Globex discovered that the majority of the site had been a former borrow pit that had been subsequently filled with unknown materials.  Furthermore, the ground water flow direction at the site was not adequately defined.  Accordingly, under the provisions of the Broward County Environmental Protection Department approved EMP, Globex installed several piezometers on the property and initiated monthly elevation monitoring to better define ground water flow direction at the site and amend the ground water monitoring plan.

Globex has prepared a Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan and annual closure cost estimates for the site.
