Delta Recycling Hialeah is a materials recovery facility owned and operated by Waste Management.  Globex has prepared several permit modification applications for the expansion of the facility and operation modifications since 2002.  The facility expansion included doubling the roof under which the processing activities takes place.  Operation modifications included accepting source separated yard trash and source separated recycled material.  Globex met with the Miami-Dade County Department of Environmental Resource Management (DERM) on several occasions and permitted the proposed modifications.  Globex also prepared a permit modification application for accepting Class III waste.

In addition, Globex prepared a permit renewal application for the facility.  Globex was tasked to prepare the permit renewal application when less than 60 days remained until the expiration date of the permit.  The permit renewal application had to be complete so that DERM would not issue any request for additional information; otherwise the facility had to cease operation as of the permit expiration date.  Globex's permit renewal application was prepared within 4 weeks and was very thorough, such that DERM deemed the application complete and the facility continued operation after the expiration date.  The permit application included an operation plan in accordance with the new rules in effect, ground water monitoring plan, engineering report, drawings, and facility location requirements such as aerial maps, zoning information, land use documentation, etc.
