Naples Landfill | Collier County, Florida, USA | Client: Waste Management

The Naples Landfill is a solid waste management facility located in Collier County, Florida. The Naples Landfill is owned by the Collier County Board of County Commissioners and operated by Waste Management Inc. The Naples Landfill includes a Class I landfill, a construction and demolition debris materials processing facility, and a household hazardous waste drop-off facility. Globex has performed numerous projects at the Naples Landfill since 2000. A list of general projects performed by Globex at the Naples Landfill since 2000 is presented below:

Geotechnical and Hydrogeological Investigations
Performance of geotechnical and hydrogeological investigation for lateral expansion of the Class I landfill; seismic study of karst geology; and field and laboratory soil testing.

Design and Permitting – Landfill

Design and permitting of landfill cells for lateral expansion; modification to the existing permit for alternative cover material; and modification to the operating permit for new cell operation.

Design and Permitting – Surface Water Management

Design and permitting of the surface water management system for the landfill lateral expansion; and design and permitting of modifications to the entrance area surface water management system.

Design and Permitting – Landfill Gas

Design and permitting of flare relocation; Title V Construction Permit for flares; Title V Operation Permit for flares; Title V construction and operation permit for concrete crusher; and Title V renewal of operating permit.

Construction Related Activities

Preparation of construction drawings, bid documents, contractor selection, provision of construction management and construction quality assurance services, construction certification.

Compliance Monitoring – Water Quality

Study of elevated concentrations in ground water; semiannual ground water monitoring, including coordination of sampling and laboratory analysis, evaluation of data, and reporting; installation of monitoring wells; biennial ground water reporting; annual leachate analysis; and surface water discharge reporting.

Annual Reporting - Landfill

Air space consumption; annual closure and long-term care cost estimate; and annual financial model.

Annual Reporting – Landfill Gas

Semiannual NSPS reporting; semiannual flare startup, shutdown, and malfunction reporting; quarterly emissions monitoring reporting; quarterly perimeter methane monitoring reporting; quarterly sulfur monitoring reporting; Annual Operating Report (AOR); annual Compliance Statement; and annual Title V fee reporting.
